The Early Learning Resource Center Region 4, serving Fayette, Greene, Washington, and Westmoreland counties, is leading the charge in using technology to improve the lives of the children and families they serve. ELRC Region 4 has agreed to purchase the first villages during the launch of Meerkat Village. ELRC Region 4 leadership has been looking for innovative ways to “improve communication between early childhood and intervention providers. Meerkat Village certainly addresses the need for better communication and much more.” ELRC Region 4 is using funding from the federal Preschool Development Grant Birth to Five program to purchase villages in the Meerkat Village launch.

Addressing the medical, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of children has become increasingly challenging. Parents feel powerless, therapists feel alone and educators may feel like they’ve tried everything. The current global pandemic has made these challenges even more daunting. Meerkat Village is a novel software platform that improves outcomes for children in need by connecting the adults that surround them.
